Hello! Feel free to browse through the posts. Most are answers to questions we've been asked about Bulletproof Coffee.
A lot of the people who want to try Bulletproof Coffee have one fundamental issue with it: they don't know how to brew coffee; and they aren't coffee drinkers. This is why this post exists. DISCLAIMER: We aren't coffee experts, but we do know enough to teach those who are strangers to brewing. The Basics: For every cup of coffee, you generally use a heaping tablespoon of coffee for every 6oz (200 ml, roughly) of water. If you've never brewed coffee before, start here, and add or subtract according to your taste. Water Use clean, filtered drinking water, and not water from your tap. Coffee is 98% water, so the quality of your brew hinges on the quality of your water. Water can make or break your cup of joe. Coffee The closer to the farm you can get the coffee, the better. We recommend you go with a good quality Arabica, which is known to be the superior coffee variety. Libericas (Barako) and Robustas tend to cause hyperacidity in those who have sensitive tummies, and are even known to cause bouts of aggression. Not worth the saved bucks. Store your coffee in an airtight container. Many coffee aficionados say you should keep coffee at room temperature, but having been raised in a house that runs on good old-fashioned coffee, I was taught to store coffee in the freezer in a ziploc bag. I can tell you the coffee seems to stay fresher that way. Here are some of the brewing methods you can choose from. The French Press This is one of the simpler ways of making coffee, and it produces a great full-bodied brew. Add the coarsely ground coffee (a heaping tablespoon per cup of hot water), then the water. Stir, then wait four minutes before you plunge down. You can buy a Bodum coffee press for a reasonable price at your nearest Starbucks. Bodum is the only brand we use. Don't buy a cheap coffee press, because you'll end up with bad coffee and a lot of the ground coffee in your cup -- not great. This will set you back upwards of 800 pesos.
