What is Ketosis?
Ketosis is when your body shifts to using fat as energy, and yes, it uses YOUR fat. (No I didn’t say you’re fat). But if you’re here because you’re looking to lose your fat, then say hello to Ketosis.
Solution No. 1: Wait til you get on full force Bulletproof Coffee
Starting on Bulletproof Coffee, as with all new endeavors, takes a bit of adjustment. If you've read our cheat sheet, you know that you should be starting with 1 tsp MCT on Day 1, 2 tsp. MCT day 2, then a full tbsp (3 tsp) on the third day. This is because if you do it full force, the MCT can cause what Asprey fondly calls disaster pants. Nobody likes that. So expect hunger pangs, but you'll notice they aren't the "hangry" kind, where you're hypoglycemic and angry at the world - trust me. Hangry is was my middle name. Hang tight til you get to full strength BP coffee and it should get better.
We get asked this question a lot, particularly by those who are just starting out. This begs the question: Why do you need to blend it at all?
Blending breaks the fats down (butter and the oil) so that it's best absorbed by the body. Asprey says biting a chunk of butter from the bar itself doesn't quite have the same effects as a proper Bulletproof coffee.
A lot of our friends have decided to give Bulletproof coffee a go, and like with any new undertaking, most of them were overwhelmed. Which is why, since one of our friends called us “reverends” of the “Bulletproof Coffee cult”, we thought it was only fitting that we set this site up to help those who are trying it out for the first time, and to provide a place where we can share where we get our haul, discuss kinks and figure it out together.
